Ho Chi Minh City, formerly, and often currently referred to as Saigon, is Vietnam's largest city with a population of 8.4 million (2017)... a lively contrast of old and new, rich and poor.
For every clean modern element of this city, there seemed to be three or four examples of poverty and trash-littered streets surrounding it.
I suppose it depends on your political output, but this "workers paradise" seemed to me to illustrate the paradox of political success and individual economic failure.
